Prof. Estes, Judan

Formulated in Hawaii in the early 20th century, Danzan Ryu integrates martial efficacy with restorative healing arts to cultivate respectful practitioners.

In 1969, Professor Jane Carr assumed dojo head. The dojo was renamed Redding JuJitsu Academy in 1978 to honor our Danzan Ryu heritage.

Founded in 1961 as Redding Judo Academy under Mike Bryne, our dojo grew under Bob Wingfield and Jim Dean, we moved to our current location in 1967.
